Atlanta Area Outreach Initiative (AAOI) is an annual, community-centered HIV care and prevention initiative serving the Atlanta Eligible Metropolitan Area (EMA). Convened by the Metropolitan Atlanta HIV Health Services Planning Council, AAOI brings together individuals living with HIV, healthcare providers, community-based organizations, advocates, and public partners for a full day of education, engagement, and access to services.
The initiative focuses on improving health outcomes across the HIV care continuum, supporting early identification, re-engagement in care, retention, and viral suppression, while addressing the broader social determinants of health that shape quality of life. Through workshops, listening sessions, on-site resources, and community dialogue, AAOI creates a space where care, prevention, and lived experience intersect.
AAOI’s 2026 theme, The A.R.T. of Care, underscores both Antiretroviral Therapy (A.R.T.) and the intentional integration of art, humanity, and dignity in public health.
